Player Status Monitoring
Every signage player reports its health back to Centro, so you can see at a glance whether your screens are online and working — without walking the floor.
Where to see it
Open Signage Players, select a player, and choose the Status tab. The status view shows the device's live system data, grouped into Hardware, Network and Performance.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Online | Whether the player is currently reachable and reporting normally. |
| Health | The device's self-reported health state. |
| Last reported | When the player last checked in. |
| Model | The player's hardware model. |
| Firmware | The firmware version running on the player. |
| Serial | The player's serial number (its unique identifier in Centro). |
| MAC / IP address | The player's network addresses. |
| Uptime | How long the player has been running since its last restart. |
The Signage Players list also shows an at-a-glance Online / Offline indicator for every player.
How fresh is it?
Centro polls your players regularly (roughly every 90 seconds) and the Status tab refreshes on its own while it's open, so the values you see track the latest check-in. Last reported tells you exactly how recent the data is.
Online is a derived state: a player is treated as online when its health is normal and it has reported recently. If a screen loses power or network, it will fall to Offline shortly after it stops checking in.
Using status day to day
- Spot problems early — a screen showing Offline or an unhealthy state usually means a power, network, or display issue at the device.
- Confirm a change landed — after assigning content or restarting a player, watch the Status tab to confirm it comes back online and reports normally.
➡️ To restart or re-provision a player, see the player actions in the BrightSign setup guide.
